Master's Message October 2026

Brethren,

And there it is….It is really something to see how swiftly the sands of time pass away almost imperceptibly, and yet…Another year in the
history books of Lafayette. As we conclude this year, and embark upon the new one, I have a few
thoughts to share.

• I truly hope that you all feel that I served you well as Master this year!
• I hope that you all had fun!
• I hope that you learned something!
• I hope that you reflected upon yourself and your habits a bit!
• I hope that you felt the Holiday Spirit this year!
• I hope that you laughed out loud!
• I hope that you enjoyed the talent show and recognize the courage of your Brethren who entertained you in May!
• I hope that you got to know your brothers better than you might have before!
• I hope that you see how connected Lafayette is to the Cumberland Community!
• I hope that you got to travel and hear the compliments that our Lodge gets within the Jurisdiction… AND without!
• I hope that you will greatly miss our Brothers who will be leaving Lafayette this year.
• I hope that you will help fill their shoes.
• I hope that YOU continue to help Lafayette grow and flourish as a Lodge.
• It was a good year, and yet there is, and will always be, so much more to do.

To the incoming Master and his line…Keep up the energy and momentum! I know that I speak not just for myself but all of the Past Masters when I say that we are here to help! No individual can accomplish what the hands of many can agreeably do!

Change is inevitable Brothers. The chairs change. Our Brothers change. Our lives change.

What Masonry teaches us, and the importance of each of us to each
other does not!

Fraternally,
W: Matt Ludwig
